Mario Lopez
 
Mario Lopez will continue as the solo host of "Extra" for the show's 17th season in September 2010. This will be his third consecutive season as the show's host after co-hosting "Extra's" weekend edition since January 2007.

A highly engaging, likeable and sought-after host and personality, Lopez likes to stay busy. In addition to his role on "Extra," Lopez currently hosts MTV/Warner Horizon Television's hit reality-competition series "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew." This fall Mario will star, along with girlfriend Courtney Mazza, in a new reality show that will air on VH-1. Cameras will follow their journey and preparation for the arrival of their baby, born in September 2010. Lopez is also a regular guest host on NBC's "Today Show with Hoda and Kathie Lee" and recently guest starred on "Nip/Tuck." On the small screen, Mario recently starred in ABC Family's "Holiday in Handcuffs" and Oxygen Network's made for TV movie "Husband for Hire."

In the midst of his television and stage work, Mario can now add author and fitness expert to his résumé. His first book, Mario Lopez's Knockout Fitness, was released in stores May 2008, and his first children's book, Mud Tacos, was released in October 2009. In April 2010 he released his third book, Extra Lean, which was featured on the New York Times bestseller list.

Born in San Diego, Lopez began his career on the 1984 television series "A.K.A. Pablo." He has become well known through his roles on NBC's "Saved by the Bell" and USA Network's "Pacific Blue." Lopez co-hosted NBC's daytime talker "The Other Half" and helped ESPN's "ESPN Hollywood." Additionally, he portrayed Olympic diving champion Greg Louganis in the MOW "Breaking the Surface: the Greg Louganis Story." His film credits include "Colors," "Depraved" and a starring role in the 1999 independent film "Eastside." He also co-produced and starred in the 2002 independent film "Outta Time."
